Does it matter where I am connecting from?

Yes, and this is the single most common reason a code never turns up.

Many services will not send an SMS when your connection appears to be in a different country from the number you gave them. From their side it looks like an account being created from somewhere other than where the phone is, which is exactly the pattern their fraud checks are built to stop.

If you have matched the country and the code still does not arrive, the number itself is the problem. Use “No code?” and we will move you to a different one.
