What is the difference between one-time and rental numbers?

A one-time number is for a single verification code, usually to register an account. Once the code arrives, that number has done its job.

A rental stays yours for a set period — hourly, daily or weekly — and receives as many messages as you need during that time. It can also be used across several services.
